About Me

Dr Friday earned his PhD at the University of Greenwich and went on to lead their forensic psychology course for the Criminology Department. His experimental research earned him the ‘doctor’ title and several academic awards, but he’s very much just Ross when bringing the darker edges of human behaviour to the public. With pitch-black humour and personal stories, he makes complex forensic psychology accessible, entertaining — and sometimes even funny. He’s created live shows, a book, and even an immersive crime scene experience that lets guests step into the macabre world of the serial killer.

His journey into criminology began early. With a father who spent two decades in HM Prison Service, Ross grew up all too aware that crime is rarely simple — and that every story has more than one side. It’s this complexity that fascinated him most.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, he went on to study psychology, graduating with a First-Class Honours degree, and later completed a doctorate under the supervision of Associate Professor David Luke. Along the way, he worked alongside some of the UK’s leading experts, including eyewitness testimony researcher Dr Josh Davis, and met some of criminology’s most notable figures.

Ross has since delivered talks at international conferences, become a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society, and continued to explore what draws us to the most disturbing aspects of human nature. His work — whether on stage, in print, or through cleverly designed experiences — invites audiences to think critically about crime, justice, and why we’re all so drawn to the darkness.

Join him on a journey through the minds of serial killers — and discover a lot about them, and perhaps even something unexpected about yourself.
